1. Piercing mill
　　The cone-type piercing mill was designed by German SMS Meer Corp. The main body was manufactured by Meer and the auxiliary equipments in front and at the rear were designed and manufactured by Taiyuan Heavy Industry. It is used to pierce the heated solid pipe billet to convert it into hollow billet in preparation for rolling at the continuous rolling mill.

　　Features of the piercing mill
　　1. The vertical layout of cone-shaped rolls and horizontal layout of guide discs for easy change of rolls and guide discs.
　　2. Adopts great feed angle and toe angle for rolling to enable large elongation and large expansion piercing.
　　3. Fast piercing with short piercing period brings high production efficiency.
　　4. The plugs are to be quickly changed and cooled online, which is beneficial to the working life of the plugs.
　　5. Equipped with the advanced piercing mill CARTA system for the piercing roll pass planning, tool design and process control management of the online process parameters.
　　6. Equipped with nitrogen blowing and borax application system to ensure the outer and inner surface quality of the pierced billet.
