340 Continuous rolling pipe mill
　　The 340 Continuous rolling pipe mill project of Chengdu Steel Co., Ltd of Pangang Group was started on October of 2003 and completed on October 18 of 2005. There are only three such pipe mills in the world and this is the sole one in China. This seamless steel pipe production line has reached the advanced level of the world in respects of equipment level, production process, quality control and the production precision for steel pipes.
　　The main types of products manufactured by the 340 mill are the high value-added products which are short of supply domestically, including petroleum-casing pipes, shipbuilding pipes, geology drilling pipes, high-pressure gas cylinder pipes, fluid-conveying pipes, line pipes, petroleum cracking pipes, pipes for low temperature applications, etc., with the applications in the industries and fields of petroleum, electricity, chemical engineering, shipbuilding, traffics, etc.
　　The heavy caliber seamless steel pipes manufactured by the 340 pipe mill are the pipes which other pipe plants of the world are not capable to produce, which fact implies a positive significance in respects of upgrading and optimization of the product line as well as risks avoidance.
　　The 340 continuous rolling pipe mill established solid foundation for the Pangang Chengdu Steel Company to strive to become the world’s first class seamless pipe manufacturing base.
　　The 340 continuous rolling pipe mill of Chengdu Steel is capable to produce various types of seamless pipes of the dimensions of 139.7～426mm(OD), 5～40mm(wall thickness), 3.0～14.63m(length). The design capacity is over 500,000 tons annually.
　　The main equipments of the 340 continuous rolling pipe mill were imported from Germany and Italy. The rolling mill, piercing mill, continuous rolling mill and control system are imported from SMS Meer, Germany.
